Where Our Data Comes From
Every piece of information on ODIN originates from authoritative, official sources - government bodies, accredited ranking organisations, and national research databases. Here's how we structure and maintain it.
Four Data Dimensions
We track global university performance metrics from leading international ranking bodies. These cover academic reputation, research impact, employer recognition, and institutional reach - giving a globally benchmarked view of each university.
Signals tracked
Official data from Swedish government authorities responsible for higher education oversight, admissions, and quality assurance. This includes programme-level details, entry requirements, application deadlines, and tuition information.
Signals tracked
We measure scholarly productivity through publication databases and citation indices that track research volume, collaborative networks, and scientific impact across disciplines.
Signals tracked
Post-graduation data from national statistics authorities captures how students fare after completing their degrees - employment rates, salary trajectories, and degree completion - giving a ground-level view of value delivered.

Our Data Commitments
Official sources only
Every data point traces back to a government body, accredited ranking organisation, or peer-reviewed index. We do not use crowdsourced or unverified content.
Kept current
Most data refreshes automatically on a regular schedule. Where automation is not possible, our team performs manual verification each semester.
Cross-referenced
Where multiple authoritative sources cover the same data point, we cross-reference them and flag discrepancies rather than accepting a single source uncritically.
Transparently labelled
On every university page, data freshness indicators show when each data point was last updated so you can judge its recency yourself.
