1. Who we are
Odin (www.viaodin.com) is a digital guide for EU/EEA students applying to Swedish universities. We operate this website and provide the ODIN Premium service. For privacy questions, contact us at hello@viaodin.com.
2. Data we collect
We collect the following personal data when you use ODIN:
- Account data: Email address, full name, and country of origin - provided when you create an account.
- Profile preferences: Swedish proficiency level, communication preferences, and any profile settings you save.
- Payment data: Stripe processes your payment. We do not store card details. We receive a confirmation of whether payment succeeded and your Stripe customer ID.
- Usage data: Pages visited, interactions with the product (e.g. searches, filters used). This is collected in aggregate and used to improve the product.
- Technical data: IP address, browser type, and device information, collected automatically through our hosting infrastructure.
3. How we use your data
- To create and manage your account
- To provide you access to ODIN Premium content
- To send transactional emails (payment confirmation, email change confirmation, password reset)
- To send product updates and tips, if you have opted in
- To improve the product based on usage patterns
- To comply with legal obligations
4. Legal basis (GDPR)
We process your personal data on the following legal bases under GDPR:
- Contract performance: Processing necessary to provide the ODIN service you signed up for.
- Legitimate interests: Improving the product, preventing fraud, maintaining security.
- Consent: Marketing and non-essential communications, where you have opted in. You can withdraw consent at any time in your Profile settings.
- Legal obligation: Retaining payment records as required by law.
5. Third-party services
- Supabase: Our backend platform, used for authentication and data storage. Supabase stores data on servers in the EU. Supabase Privacy Policy.
- Stripe: Payment processing. When you purchase ODIN Premium, your payment details are handled entirely by Stripe. Stripe Privacy Policy.
6. Cookies
We use strictly necessary cookies to maintain your session after you sign in. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies. If we add analytics in the future, this policy will be updated.
7. Data retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active, or as required by law. If you delete your account, your personal data is deleted within 30 days, except for payment records which are retained for 7 years as required by EU financial regulations.
8. Your rights
Under GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Rectify inaccurate data (editable in your Profile)
- Erase your data (delete your account in Profile → Account)
- Restrict or object to processing
- Portability - request a copy of your data
- Withdraw consent for marketing communications at any time
To exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@viaodin.com. We will respond within 30 days. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority.
9. Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you by email and update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of ODIN after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
