Founded as a state university college in 1977, Jönköping University has been run by a foundation since 1994. Its 15,200 students study at four schools on one campus in the city centre, where student life is largely in English. The business school JIBS holds EQUIS, AACSB and AMBA accreditation. Småland's largest city, at the southern tip of Lake Vättern, and Student City of the Year 2026.
