Founded in 1977, Kristianstad University traces its roots to teacher training in 1835 and gained doctoral degree rights in 2019. Its 15,100 students share one campus inside a UNESCO biosphere reserve, 2 km from the centre. Every undergraduate programme includes work-integrated learning, and a city-centre campus opens in 2029. A 1614 fortress town in northeast Skåne.
