Swedish School of Sport and Health Sciences (GIH)

Pehr Henrik Ling founded it in 1813 as the Royal Gymnastics Central Institute; it took the name GIH in 1966. It had 846 full-time-equivalent students in 2025, on a hilltop campus next to the 1912 Olympic Stadium. It trains PE teachers, coaches, health promoters and sport scientists. Most programmes are taught in Swedish. Stockholm is Sweden's capital, built on 14 islands.
